(1912-2005 ) Zamindar of Illyarasanendal
Illyarasanendal , an important Zamin in the Madurai Nayaka Kingdom was ruled by the Ravilla kings dating back to 1600 AD until the abolition of the Zamindari rule. The name of the educational institutions trust is after the last Zamindar.
The Zamindars roots can be traced in World Heritage Encyclopaedia as descendants of Commander Malla Nayaka (1495 CE) who served in the Salura Narasimha Raya Army of Vijayanagaram Kingdom.
The last Zamindar Sri Ravilla Kasthuri Ranga Appaswamy Naidu Garu was a philanthropist who worked for the upliftment of the people of the town of Kovilpatti and was instrumental in many projects to be initiated in the town with his association with large industrial groups and contributed in offering land.
An all-rounder and avid naturalist the zamindar had widely travelled and written books on his expeditions. He was instrumental to introduce hockey in the town of Kovilpatti that resulted in the town hosting national level tournaments.
His contributions as scholarships to students for education are innumerable. The family decided to form a trust to rightly name after him to continue the history of the family.
